From 1970-83, this historic venue hosted such amazing performers such as Freddie Hubbard, Bobby Hutcherson, Cedar Walton, Joe Henderson, The Timeless All-Stars, Red Garland, Sonny Stitt, and Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.
This all star bay area based ensemble is composed of both emerging musicians and veterans of the original Keystone Korner scene. Trumpeter Max Ehrhardt and vibraphonist Gus Hurteau lead the band and are joined by bassist Isaac Coyle and drummer Miles Turk, along with the Bay Area legends Richard Howell and Frank Martin on Tenor Sax and Piano respectively.
Playing tunes selected from legendary live recordings made at Keystone Korner, this is one ensemble you will not want to miss!
Maximilian K. Ehrhardt is a trumpet player and educator from Oakland, CA. Having graduated University of the Pacific in Jazz Performance under Joe Mazzaferro, Max brings hard bop influences of Lee Morgan, Blue Mitchell, and Freddie Hubbard to his ongoing jam participation at Madrone, Marsh, Jupiter, and Honor, regularly sitting in with emerging and established jazz scene performers. He’s been honored to perform with esteemed artists such as Ambrose Akinsmuire, Sean Jones, Marquis Hill, Mike Olmos, Richard Howell, Jon Santos, Gary Brown, Frank Martin, Deszon Claiborne, and Ravi Abcarian, in such respected venues as Yoshi’s, Mr. Tipples, the Paramount, Fox Theatre, the Monterey Jazz Festival, KCSM’s Jazz On The Hill, and the Noise Pop Festival.

Max Ehrhardt is a Oakland based trumpet player and educator dedicated to spreading music and creativity into the Bay-Area community. Growing up in programs like Oaktown Jazz Workshops and earning his undergraduate degree at the University of the Pacific under the instruction of Joe Mazzaferro, Max has accumulated a wealth of musical experience spanning multiple genres and styles.
Drawing influence from Hard Bop players such as Lee Morgan, Blue Mitchell, and Freddie Hubbard as well as Funk and Soul artists like Bill Withers and Earth, Wind, and Fire, Max shares his love of many different styles and genres of music.
One of Max’s projects is the creation of The Lakeshore Collective which represents the growing and inclusive community of Bay Area musicians. As an ever changing ensemble of artists and band members, they showcase the unique talents and collaborative personalities of all Bay-Area musicians.
